Adoption Process

Our adoption process is simple, supportive, and designed with both you and your new kitten in mind. From the moment you submit your application to the exciting go-home day, we’ll be there to guide you every step of the way. Our goal is to make your adoption experience as smooth, stress-free, and joyful as possible—ensuring a perfect start to a lifelong bond with your new baby.

Adoption Fees

Sphynx: $2500.00
DBE or ODD Eyed: $3000.00

Companions of Valor: $3500

Odd-eyed and DBE (Dichromatic/Blue-Eyed) Sphynx cats are exceptionally rare and visually striking, making them highly sought after. This unique eye diversity occurs less frequently in breeding and requires careful, selective pairing, which contributes to their higher cost.

In addition, our Companions of Valor kittens are priced above standard Sphynx due to the extensive time, care, and individualized preparation they receive. These kittens are raised with a specialized focus on emotional readiness, confidence-building, and human bonding—qualities essential for their future role as emotional support companions. The additional investment in both time and resources ensures they leave us not only healthy and well-socialized, but uniquely prepared to provide meaningful comfort and connection to their new families.

What is included in the price of a cat?

Each adoption includes a comprehensive care package to ensure your kitten starts their new life happy, healthy, and well-supported.

Your adoption will include:

  • Negative PCR/Fecal and Giardia test results
  • FIV/FELV negative
  • Spay or neuter
  • Microchip for identification and safety
  • State-issued health certificate
  • Personalized EZAcres Cattery health records
  • One-year health guarantee against congenital defects
  • Two-year HCM guarantee
  • Age-appropriate vaccinations
  • One month of free health insurance through Trupanion
  • Detailed go-home and feeding instructions
  • Personalized baby blanket, toys, and collar
  • Lifetime breeder support and guidance

We are committed to providing ongoing care, support, and love—well beyond adoption day.

Does EZAcres Cattery perform the HCM & DNA testing on your breeding cats?

Yes, we conduct HCM DNA testing through Wisdom Panel and perform scheduled HCM screenings on all of our breeding cats to ensure their heart health and overall well-being. We stand behind our program with a two-year HCM guarantee, reflecting our commitment to responsible breeding and the long-term health of every kitten we raise.

Do you have kittens available and do you sell to breeders?

We typically have kittens or cats available for adoption 3–4 times a year, depending on our breeding cycles. To see who may be looking for their forever home, please visit our Available for Adoption page for the most up-to-date information on both kittens and retiring adults.

*Please note, we do not sell our cats with breeding rights. All of our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered prior to going to their new families—this procedure is included in the adoption fee as part of our commitment to responsible breeding and lifelong pet welfare.

How do I adopt a kitten?

To begin the adoption process, simply fill out our adoption application. Once submitted, we will review your information and reach out to you via text within 24–48 hours—either to ask any follow-up questions or to let you know that your application has been approved. We’re here to make the process smooth and personal every step of the way.

Do you have an adoption waitlist?

We offer a waitlist process that begins with the completion of our adoption application. Once you receive pre-approval, a non-refundable $100.00 deposit is required (which will be applied to the balance of your kitten adoption). Once we receive your reservation deposit, you’ll be added to our priority list— giving you early access to available kittens before they’re posted to the general public. This allows you to move forward with an adoption immediately, without waiting through the standard approval timeline, which can take several days. Being pre-approved ensures you won’t miss out on the kitten you’ve fallen in love with due to timing.

Is there a required deposit?

We do not accept full deposits until you have officially been pre-approved and a kitten has been chosen. At that point, a $400.00 non-refundable deposit is due (added to your pre-approval deposit, totaling $500.00), your deposit will then be applied to the balance of your kitten adoption. *Please note that a signed adoption contract is required to reserve your kitten and the kitten will not be marked as “SOLD” until both the full deposit and contract have been received and confirmed.

How old are they when they can go home?

We raise our kittens until they are approximately 13–14 weeks old before they join their new families. By this time, they will have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have received all age-appropriate vaccinations and health testing. This ensures they are well-developed, healthy, and fully prepared for a smooth transition into their forever homes.

Where are you located and can we visit our kitten in person?

We are located in Northern Alabama, approximately 2 hours south of Nashville, TN, and just 30 minutes north of Huntsville, AL.

EZAcres Cattery is a closed facility and not open to the general public. However, approved adopters are welcome to visit once their kitten has received its second set of vaccinations and has been moved to the kitten room—typically around 9 to 10 weeks of age.

*Please note: All visits are strictly no-contact to protect the health and developing immune systems of the kittens. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of every kitten in our care.

Do you offer shipping on cats and do you ship overseas?

Yes, we offer shipping throughout the U.S. using trusted in-cabin Flight Nannies. Upon request, we’re happy to provide you with recommended contacts so you can reach out to them directly for availability and quotes.

Flight Nanny service fees are typically based on travel distance and generally range between $500 – $900.

-(please note, this cost is not included in the price of your kitten or cat).

Adopters are always welcome to fly or drive directly to our cattery to pick up their kitten in person. We’re also happy to meet you at our nearest airport (HSV – Huntsville International) for a same-day or next-day return flight.

For international adoptions, we can ship to select countries depending on travel length and import regulations specific to your location.

However, we only allow in-cabin transport with a Flight Nanny—we do NOT and WILL NOT ship kittens in cargo under ANY circumstances.

-(please note, this cost is not included in the price of your kitten or cat).
