Health Testing
- All of our breeding cats undergo thorough and proactive health screenings to ensure our kittens meet the highest standards of health and well-being. We perform scheduled echocardiograms to screen for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), a heart condition that, unfortunately, is common in the Sphynx breed. These scans are conducted by Dr. Straeter at Cardiac Evaluations, Inc. in Birmingham, AL—an expert we trust to provide accurate, professional evaluations. In addition to heart screening, we complete comprehensive DNA testing through Wisdom Panel, which screens for over 45 known genetic diseases. This helps us identify and eliminate any potential hereditary health risks, giving our kittens the healthiest possible start in life. Our commitment to responsible breeding means every decision is made with long-term wellness in mind—for both our cats and the families who love them.

DNA and HCM test results for our adult breeding cats are readily available upon request for any adopter. - We take the health of our cats and kittens very seriously, which is why every litter undergoes a full panel of testing at the Animal Hospital of North Alabama before going to their new homes. Each kitten is SNAP® tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), and Heartworms. We also perform fecal exams and SNAP® tests for Giardia to rule out the presence of parasites and protozoans, supporting the overall health of the kitten. All testing is completed prior to departure to ensure that every kitten leaves us healthy, protected, and ready to thrive in their new forever home. Your peace of mind—and their well-being—will always be our top priority!

Each of our adoptions includes a comprehensive package designed to ensure your kitten has the healthiest and smoothest transition into their new home. Every kitten comes with:

Food
We currently provide a carefully selected feeding regimen to meet the unique nutritional needs of our Sphynx cats at every stage. Our breeding cats are alternately fed Purina One Plus Kitten Formula kibble and Primal Nuggets freeze-dried food. For our pregnant and nursing moms, as well as our weaning babies, we use both wet and dry Royal Canin Mother & Babycat formulas to ensure they receive optimal support during these critical phases.
Once kittens reach about 2½ months of age, they transition to Purina One Plus Kitten Formula kibble mixed with wet Mother & Babycat food, which they continue until they are ready to go to their new homes.
Because Sphynx cats have higher calorie and hydration needs than the average cat, they should always have access to fresh food and water. If you choose to switch their diet after adoption, please do so gradually—Sphynx cats have very sensitive stomachs, and slow transitions are key to maintaining their digestive health.
Litter
Like most catteries, we go through a tremendous amount of litter—and choosing the safest option for our cats is a top priority. We currently use TSC Pine Pellets and RK Equine Pine Pellets, which come in 40-pound bags for under $8 each. These pine pellets are all-natural and free from the harsh chemicals often found in traditional clay clumping litters.
Pine pellets are especially safe for young kittens during the early stages of litter training. Clay litter is NOT recommended! Unlike clay litter, which can pose a serious risk if accidentally ingested—potentially solidifying and causing airway blockages—pine pellets are far less hazardous and much gentler on developing systems.
Once your kitten has been home for at least 14 days and has fully adjusted to their new environment, you're welcome to transition them to the litter of your choice. Just be sure to do so gradually to avoid confusion and maintain consistency in their litter box habits.
